It’s a rainy day here in Los Angeles… Sometimes on days like this, I don’t feel much like going out into the cold dampness and heading to my gym. Instead, I prefer to workout in the comfort of my own home. Let’s be honest, I’d actually rather be bundled up in front of a fire with hot cocoa than working out at all… but as the saying goes: “You won’t get the booty you want by sitting on the one you have.”
So today, before I curl up in front of a warm fire with that hot cocoa (which will probably be just a concoction of coconut milk and chocolate protein powder warmed up)… I’m gonna get a workout in! Here’s what I wrote up (you will need a timer, most smart phones have those!). Enjoy! 😉
Warm up for about 5 minutes with something like light jumping jacks or a jog up and down your hall if you have one!
- High Knees – 30 seconds
- Scissor Lunges – 10 each leg
- Forearm Plank to Hand Plank – 30 seconds (start in a regular forearm plank, then one arm at a time, push up into a plank on your hands, then one arm at a time, move back down into a regular forearm plank)
- Jump Squats – 20 seconds
- Regular Squats – 50x (if you have dumbbells, use those and decrease the amount of reps)
- Burpees – 30 seconds
- Jumping Jacks – 30 seconds
Rest 1 minute, then repeat this circuit as many times as you can! When you’re finished, take 5 minutes or so to cool down and stretch out those muscles!
Make sure you write down how many times you completed it, so that the next time you attempt it, you can plan to beat that number!! Remember, if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you!
Now for that warm fire and protein hot cocoa….
